Privacy Policy

MatchScan (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by IRL Dynamics. This policy describes how we handle information when you use the MatchScan mobile application (“App”), related QR and web landing experiences, and our website at matchscan.app (together, the “Services”).

1. Summary

  • Much of your scan history, profile fields, and palm-related data stay on your device unless you choose features that send data to our servers or third-party AI providers.
  • If you enable cloud AI analysis, palm images and related prompts may be sent through MatchScan's secure relay (Cloudflare) to Groq for processing, subject to Groq's and Cloudflare's policies.
  • Before cloud AI analysis runs in the App, we show an in-app prompt describing what is sent and that it goes through Cloudflare to Groq; you can continue, stay on-device, or cancel.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

2. Information we process

2.1 You provide

  • Photos: Palm images captured with the camera for scans, profile palm capture, or QR-based matching.
  • Profile & optional inputs: Display name, date of birth, and similar fields you enter for deeper scans or your shareable profile.

2.2 Automatically / on-device

  • Local storage: The App may store scan results, preferences, and cached configuration on your device (for example via AsyncStorage).
  • Technical data: When you use our website or APIs, standard server logs may include IP address, user agent, and timestamps for security and reliability.

3. How we use information

  • To operate the App: camera capture, scoring, history, QR sharing, and related UX.
  • To provide optional AI-assisted readings when enabled, including sending images and prompts through Cloudflare to Groq for inference.
  • To improve reliability, security, and abuse prevention for our web properties.
  • To comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use.

4. Sharing and processors

We share information only as needed to run the Services:

  • Infrastructure & AI: Cloudflare (relay), Groq (model inference), Firebase, and other hosting or networking providers involved when you use server-backed features. Those providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies.
  • Legal: When required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and integrity.

5. Retention

On-device data remains until you delete it within the App (for example via profile or history controls) or uninstall the App. Server logs are retained for a limited period as needed for operations and security.

6. Your choices and rights

  • Use in-app controls to clear or delete stored profile and scan data where available.
  • Disable or refrain from using AI-backed features if you prefer not to send images remotely.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to certain processing. Contact us at hello@matchscan.app for privacy requests.

7. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

8. International users

If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our vendors operate.

9. California (CCPA/CPRA) notice

We do not sell personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act. California residents may request access or deletion subject to applicable law by emailing hello@matchscan.app.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date.
